Employees may be taken by surprise to discover that their First Amendment free-speech right does not apply in the private-sector workplace. Reddit'srninfamous troll "Violentacrez" learned this lesson the hardest of ways. After a reporter revealed his identity, his evening preoccupation cost him his real-life job. Yet, employers too cannot rely on the basic premise of no free speech in the private sector.
