On May 1, 2016, President Obama, along with the Department of Labor, announced the publication of the department's Final Rule updating overtime regulations. The Final Rule focuses on updating the salary and compensation levels needed for executive, administrative, and professional workers to be exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act's (FLSA) overtime requirements.
