EVOLUTIONARY RESEARCH ON THE COORDINATED DEVELOPMENT OF RESOURCES, ENVIRONMENT AND ECONOMY

China s western cities have developed rapidly in recent years. But they are facing challenges from resources and environment pressures. As the scope of economy expanding, the resources restriction to the development of economy and society is more and more evident. This paper tried to track and assess the harmonious status between the resource and environment’s status and the development of economy and society in X i’an in order to provide decision support for regional sustainability. This paper will build a dynamic model of the economy- resource-environment (ERE) system and evaluating its coordination level. The results show that the degree of coordination between Xi'an's economy and the environment fluctuated greatly between 2004 and 2018. The degree of coordination in 2008 was the lowest level. Since then, the degree of coordination has continued to rise, and it has begun to enter intermediate coordinated development and reach a good level in 2018 coordination. with the efforts of the Xi'an Municipal Government and the environmental protection department, the economy has achieved rapid development and the environmental quality has been significantly improved. However, how to achieve coordinated and sustainable development of Xi'an's economy and environment, we must make further efforts.
