Based: Head office and depot - 1 Milehouse Road, Milehouse, Plymouth, Devon Founded: October 1986 to continue the business of Plymouth City Transport as a council-owned arms' length company and sold to Go-Ahead Croup on 1 December 2009. PlymouthrnCorporation purchased a local tramway company in 1892 and by 1922 had expanded it partly through subsequent acquisitions and route extensions. Motorbus operation started in 1920 with feeder routes on to the tram system, but tramway abandonment began in 1930 and was completed seven weeks after the end of WorldrnWar 2 in 1945. The coach fleet survived a closure threat in 2008, but has been reduced in size. A commercial engineering service is operated at Milehouse, which includes MoT tests for cars.
