Can Britain feed itself? The last time that question was asked with any urgency, there was a war on. Today, a host of equally menacing global threats have made the question urgent once more. With food-related politics in suspension while the Lib Dems and Tories rearrange the desks at No 10, it is a matter that architects cannot ignore. The way we feed ourselves in future could change the very face of our cities and countryside.
