This is a leadership position serving to plans and implements underwriting targeted to meeting current and long range revenue objectives. Directs and oversees underwriting and support staff to ensure performance goals and plans are met. Develops and implements strategic underwriting plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services. Achieves satisfactory cost/benefit ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends. Ensures effective control of underwriting results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of underwriting objectives falls within designated budgets. Monitors industry trends.
