Across the globe, water utilities strive to address such issues as inadequate or low-quality supplies, deteriorating distribution systems, water use, water quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Careful management of water resources becomes more critical every day, driving the innovation of new methods to acquire, store, and maintain supplies. Aquifer storage and recovery, although not technically a new water resources management tool, has been used in creative ways to augment supplies.
