p53 is a nuclear protein that is essential for cell-cycle control, DN A repair and induction of apoptosis and it acts as a tumor suppressor. But the p53 gene mutated in most of cancers, leading to development and chemore si stance of cancer. Survivin, one member of the inhibitor of apoptosis gene family, is another apoptotic molecule of importance which has anti-apoptotic effect through inhibiting capase-9 and caspase-3. It also plays important roles in development and recurrence of tumors.
