During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was a common phenomenon for many clans to publicize their long history and have noble ancestors in genealogy. However, Shao De Tang Yang's family in Jiaying was different. They just traced the ancestors back to the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty and their ancestors were common people. This paper analyses the reasons why the Yang's family adopted this way and discusses how the local clans with underdeveloped culture to establish moral beliefs so as to further explore how the local clans cultural identity with the state.%明清时期,通过修族谱的方式宣扬本族历史悠久,始祖为华夏贵胄是众多宗族的普遍做法.但嘉应州的绍德堂杨氏却与众不同,不仅将始祖只追溯至元末明初,且以布衣为始祖.分析杨氏采取这一做法的原因,并由此探讨地方宗族对国家的文化认同方式.
