As an outstanding representative of the "new generation" of Chinese American writers , Fae Myenne Ng , on publishing her debut novel Bone , has attracted broad attention and enjoyed high reputation from the readers and academic circle home and abroad . Her new novel , Steer Toward Rock , continuing the preceding escape theme of the first novel , characterizes numerous "escapees" . Based on close reading , archetypal analysis and psychological analysis , this paper focuses on her "escaping daughters" , and studies daughters' choice between "stay" and "escape" .
