Hydrogen production and environmental purification using photocatalyst are attracting attention as clean reaction using sunlight. Especially, cadmium sulfide has been used as a visible light responsive photocatalyst for a long time, but it has problems of fast recombination and photo-corrosion. In this study, solving these problems, titanium oxide and silicon carbide were combined with cadmium sulfide. The excited electrons and holes generated on cadmium sulfide are separated into respective photocatalysts, and efficient hydrogen production proceed.
