Based on the data obtained from the field survey in the intertidal zone of the Binhai New Area of Tianjin Bay in October 2014, the distribution characteristics of soil organic carbon pool in the intertidal zone were studied. The results show that the highest organic carbon content of soil is 22.913g/kg, and the average is 16.304g/kg. The soil organic carbon pool in the intertidal zone is between 6.58-30.40kg/m~3, close to the level of organic carbon of forest soil in the Binhai New Area, as well as in the surrounding wetland such as Yellow River Estuary or Liaohe River Estuary. Coastal wetland is an important carbon pool in coastal areas.
