In recent years, growing concern had been paid on rapidly increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. Carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology is considered to be a potentially effective strategy for mitigating the greenhouse gas emissions. Aqueous amine chemical absorption is the most mature technology for large-scale separation of CO2 from flue gas streams. However, they suffer from drawbacks such as high energy consumption, and corrosion.
