New Data for the Correction of Orifice Plate Measurements in Wet Gas Flow Conditions

Orifice meters can give predictable wet gas flow over-readings, which may therefore be corrected. As with Venturi and cone type DP meters used in wet gas flows, orifice meters show a gas densimetric Froude number effect, where for an increasing gas densimetric Froude number an increasing over-reading is obtained. The limited data presented here suggests the effect is less for orifice plates than for Venturi and cone type DP meters.
