摘要

Although the Claus reaction based processes are widely used in industry to recover sulfur from sour gas or crude oil, the precise mechanism of this reaction remains unclear and controversial, specially for gas-liquid processes. We propose here a direct lab scale determination of Claus reaction kinetics in the industrial conditions : temperature at 125°C, water concentration representative of Clauspol process (30% water in the gas phase) and sulfur saturation of the catalytic solution. A gas-inducing well stirred reactor provides high gas-liquid transfer which allow to measure reaction rate. The rate of direct Claus reaction 2H2S + SO2→3S + 2 H2O is proportional to the product of the reactants [H2S][SO2] r1 = 0.37[H2S][SO2] mole.m~(-3)s~(-1) for [H2S][SO2] < 0.1 mole~2m~(-6) The rate of the inverse reaction is also estimated : r_(-1) = 8 10~(-4) mole.m~(-3)s~(-1) in the conditions of the Clauspol process.
