Polymer/silicate nanocomposites have drawn vast attention since nylon-6/montmorillonite(MMT) nanocomposites were reported by Toyota research group1. Due to various advantages of the composites such as high stiffness, enhanced mechanical property, high thermal stability, fameretarding and barrier properties even with small amount of silicate, polymer/MMT nanocomposites have been intensively investigated.
