Oil is needed on the inner surface of the gear to synchronize lubrication in RWD manual transmission. This oil is circulated through small gaps which is called endplay and gear oil holes between the gear and the synchro hub. The objective of this study is to develop a method to analyze finite elements as well as a model to analyze fluid dynamics by focusing on the rotation of the needle roller bearing relative to the shaft located in the inner surface of the gear. At transient state, each gear component was tested at variable conditions in terms of their rotational speed and direction, amount of oil splashed onto the gear system and etc. This was carried out to develop an optimized process in defining the flow characteristics in the gear oil hole. As a result, it was possible to observe the oil flow direction in the gear oil hole and endplay. Also, calculating and comparing the flow rate in each component verified the credibility of this study. The oil flow characteristics were also identified through the visualization of oil speed in the vector field as well as Volume of Fraction in the scalar field.
