The paper designed a flow rate disturbance system on a swirl burner. The heat release rate fluctuation and lean blowout limit variation have been analyzed in rich and lean disturbance. Microsecond pulsed plasma discharge was applied to determine the effect to the flame with flow rate disturbance. The results showed that the plasma plays double-edged effects to the flame due to the time delay with the flow disturbance. The aerodynamic actuation may influence the combustion stability, and the re-ignition may extend the lean blowout limit. The novel phenomenon provide a new method and strategy for combustion direct control.
