SPATIAL ANALYSIS OF INDOOR RADON, SMOKING, HOME ELEVATION, AND LUNG CANCER, MORTALITY AND HOSPITAL DISCHARGES, 2010-2012

We examined the spatial relationship between indoor radon, smoking, lung cancer, mortality and hospital discharges, gender and elevation. We analyzed spatial patterns related to indoor radon emanation and exposure and associated public health burden. Data from the District's Cancer Registry, Vital Records, State Health Planning and Development Agency (SHPDA) and Department of Environment Radon Program were used in this study. Spatial analysis was employed at the zip code level, and indoor radon, and lung cancer incidence, mortality, hospital discharges, smoking, gender and home elevation were mapped.
