摘要

Diagnostic use of nuclear magnetic resonance technique (MRI scanners) involves exposure of examined patients to very strong static magnetic fields (SMF) and time-varying electromagnetic fields (EMF). Preparation and performance of such examinations involvealso exposure of workers to these fields (exposure to SMF while" each examination, and to time-varying fields sporadically). Workers operating MRI scanners are among population exposed to, the highest SMF, and are exposed over many years. WHO Monograph (232, 2006) presents conclusion that available data are not sufficient for establishing health risk related to such exposure. Investigations of workers exposure to SMF and its health results are among research Priorities of WHO,JCNIRP and European Union.
