摘要

An investigation of disinfection byproducts formation in a treated wastewater effluent after application of different disinfection technologies was conducted for the City of Tracy WWTP. Technologies evaluated include ozone, UV radiation, and chloramination as well as the different combinations of these technologies such chloramination plus UV radiation and the innovative approach of ozone plus UV radiation. The evaluation of combined technologies offers the added benefit of the dose reduction of each disinfectant that is required to achieve pathogen inactivation along with the synergistic oxidation of microconstituents.
