CONSIDERING UV AOP FOR DIRECT POTABLE REUSE: A NEW SET OF CRITERIA

Advanced Oxidation (AOP) is a powerful barrier which has been effectively implemented in direct potable reuse water applications for destruction of emerging contaminants of concern, including many of the contaminants listed in the CCL3. AOP has been shown capable of destroying pesticides, algal toxins and algal related taste and odor compounds (T&O), endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs), pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), and many other classes of emerging, recalcitrant compounds.
