Two general types experiments were performed to probe the kinetics of the reaction system: varying ratios of HNE/HSA with a fixed reaction time and one high ratio with several times. Then iTRAQ reagent was used to do quantitative analysis. In previous work2, 3, both groups assumed that the reactions were kinetically-controlled and based their analyses on that assumption. We found the kinetics are complicated and some processes may be controlled by thermodynamics rather than kinetics. However in general, there is good correspondence with the data from Aldini and co-workers, but significant differences were found with respect to the data from Liebler and co-workers. The origin of the these differences is under investigation.
