摘要

Salmonellosis is an important foodborne infection in industrialized and developing countries. Especially for human Salmonellosis caused by Salmonella typhimurium, pigs and pork are the major sources of infection. The methodology for Salmonella screening in pigs is generally based on antibody detection at slaughter with meat juice as the sample matrix. In this study, an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) test and a PCR method for identifying the risk of Salmonella contamination were compared ina field study on the same lots of animals in a slaughterhouse. The results were compared to investigations carried out on two farms with the different prevalences of Salmonella antibody-positive animals.
