摘要

An extraction method, combining a SALLE approach with derivatization was successfully developed and validated for the quantitation of menthol in rat plasma. The SALLE approach allowed for an effective matrix clean-up and facilitated the extractability of menthol from plasma. It was also compatible with the subsequent derivatization with dansyl chloride which was essential to achieve the required sensitivity using MRM. Chromatographic on-line trapping was also implemented to remove suppressors and separate derivatization by-products.
