摘要

The ability of adipose-derived stromal cells to differentiate along an osteogenic lineage has been well described. However, the molecular mechanisms controlling this pathway are not fully understood. We have previously described the remarkable upregulation of bone morphoge-netic protein receptor type IB to chemical inductors of in vitro osteogenic differentiation. In this study, we confirmed, using RNA interference, the necessity of BMPR-IB for osteogenic differentiation of mouse ASCs. We further demonstrated that abrogation of the type IA receptor did not significantly affect extracellular mineral deposition by mouse ASCs.
