The treatment with MeLi of the cationic bis(aminophosphite)iron complex,[Cp~*(CO)Fe-{P(OMe)_2(NHPh)}_2]PF_6) yielded the anionic bis(phosphineimide)iron complex,Li[Cp~*(CO)Fe-{P(NPh)(OMe)_2}_2],which serves as a novel N-N chelating ligand toward several metals to form binuclear complexes.Syntheses and X-ray crystal structures of Rh and Al complexes of the metalloligand are discussed.
