Therapy and Prophylaxis of Bleeding Symptoms in a Patient with Acquired Factor X-Defidency due to Systemic ImySoidosis (AL-Amyloidosis)

A number of cases of acquired factor X deficiency have been reported in patients with systemic amyloid light-chain amyloidosis [3,4]- The underlying mechanism could be an absorption of factor X to the amyloid fibrils and rapid clearance of factor X by the amyloid in vasculature and tissues [2]. The incidence of Factor X deficiency varies from 2% to 50%. According to case reports patients with factor X levels less than 10% showed severe or fatal bleeding [1,5].
