This paper studies the CS of researchers as it affects customary measurement practices (what researchers ordinarily do in performing their work). The study assumes that customary measurement practices depend upon researcher attitudes toward measurement concepts such as measurement purpose, methods, venues, data-transformations, and outputs. These concepts do not have fixed values, but can be applied to the research situation in various ways, depending on how they are interpreted by researchers.
