摘要

In this work three-dimensional optical digitations is propsoed to be applied in the field of orthodontics, for new born infants, allowing fast and accurate measurements. The 3D digitizer that has been designed consists of a triangulation system made of a CCD camera and an active projector which uses, both the Gray code and the Phase Stepping method to sample the surface under test. This optical device allows also to take images from different points of view and the automatic integration of all of them in a single coordinate system. Specific software has been used for the hardware control and to perform all the calculations required.
