A method for preventing the deformity of the upper lip in the children with unilateral cleft lip and palate following cheilorhinoplasty provides for applying onto the maxilla the device with lip bumper and horizontal plates of basis guiding the growth. The plates made of thermoplastic material with free space allowing for the growth of the cleft fragments are used. The device should be used round-the-clock.
