摘要

The present study provides experimental proof that the main oxidizing intermediates formed in alkaline solution upon decomposition of ozone are the hydroxyl radicals. Their yield is about 0.5 mole % of ozone. Substantial information on the reactions of these particular radicals is available in the literature on radiation chemistry and published kinetic data now can be applied for evaluating the actions initiated by ozone in water whenever a predecomposi-tion takes place.
