In the worldwide search for global energy solutions, nuclear power has re-emerged as a clear, safe, and reliable energy source. R&D activities in materials and technologies for nuclear power plants are gaining full steam ahead in the recent nuclear power renaissance. With increasingly higher requirements for efficiency, safety, and long operation life, design and construction of new nuclear power plants face significant materials and technology challenges. The Materials and Technologies for Nuclear Power Plants sessions provide a platform for experts from around the world to present and discuss their researches in materials and technologies applicable to nuclear power systems development.
