With the publication of the new CES, increasing varieties of college English textbooks emerge.The sheer varieties of teaching materials and the competing claims made by publishers are confusing and overwhelming.Based on the evaluation theory in TESOL field, this article aims to offer suggestions and criteria to teachers as well as college administrators on how to evaluate and choose suitable course books for college English learners.
