摘要

The purpose of this research is to study the cephalexin permeability difference between human intestine and Caco-2 cells. Using gene chip analysis, the mechanism of permeability difference is explored through measuring the expression of 12,630 known genes, which includes numerous transporters and metabolic enzymes. The cephalexin permeability in human intestine did not correlate with that in Caco-2 cells. The expression profile of 12, 630 genes in human intestine is different from that in Caco-2 cells, in which ~2500 and ~4600 genes were detected in 4 days Caco-2 cells and human duodenum, respectively. Some transporter expression levels were dramatically different between human duodenum and Caco-2 cells.
