This paper presents the structured approach for the Library Generation Flow (LGF) project which was implemented using StP (Software through Pictures). Incorporating Yourdon and Jackson structured analysis techniques, the LGF project was able to achieve 10/spl times/ cycle time reduction during the analysis and design phases. The project achieved better than 90% accuracy in the translation of the customer requirements to the LGF specifications document The project is contributing to the requirements for SEI-level three by planning, documenting and tracking all project issues. The LGF project uses a formal review procedure for each phase of the product life-cycle. The LGF system is an automated method for generating a cell library for semicustom design.
