Modeling Drug Release from Collagen Matrices Undergoing Enzymatic Degradation

摘要

A new mathematical model describing drugrelease from collagen matrices undergoingenzymatic degradation was developed,implemented and tested. A Freundlich isothermis used to model enzyme binding at thesubstrate. Physically entrapped drug, onlyreleased after matrix cleavage, is incorporatedin the diffusion equation by an additional sourceterm.
