Information storage devices such as re-writable DVD (DVD-RW) disks require high degree of groove replication to achieve desired readability. Increasing mold temperatures, packing pressures, and filling speeds are processing techniques typically used to achieve higher levels of replication. These extreme molding conditions are often on the border of material processing window. A simple process model of groove forming is presented to identify the relevant material properties and balance them against the processing conditions
