Disclosed in the present invention are a medium composition for detecting drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and a kit for detecting drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis by using same. The medium composition and the kit according to the present invention do not inhibit the proliferation (growth) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, allow the boundaries of colonies of the proliferated drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis to be clear, and allow the color of colonies of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to be in complementary contrast with that of the medium composition, and thus enable the colonies of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to be conveniently and accurately counted and detected with the naked eye.
