Disclosed are a control method for a gas water heater, a gas water heater, and a computer readable storage medium. The control method comprises: obtaining a difference between an actual load value of a gas water heater and a preset load value; if the difference falls within a first preset load value range, controlling the gas water heater to operate in a preset mode; and revising the preset load value if the gas water heater operates in the preset mode and a difference between an actual water amount of the gas water heater and a preset water amount exceeds a first preset range, and/or a difference between an actual inlet water temperature of the gas water heater and a preset inlet water temperature exceeds a second preset range.
