It is provided a method and module for in-line, on-line, at-line and bypass quality monitoring of omega-3 phospholipid compositions during manufacturing using process analytical technology (PAT) with near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) as well as attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) wherein levels of for example docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), phospholipids and a combination thereof measured to adjust parameters of the manufacturing process to obtain the desired omega-3 phospholipid compositions.
