Factory and like time-recorders; time, computing.-In a workmen's time-recorder the job number, the time of charge of the job, and the number of the new job are printed upon cards or time sheets, and a duplicate record is simultaneously produced upon a strip retained within the apparatus. Disks &c. A, bearing types a3 and provided with locking-pawls a5, are set, to print data, by means of a style a2 entering recesses a1 and the impression is effected by a platen B which may be mounted on an arm b rigidly connected to an arm b3 so as to be operated by a cam b4 on the main handleoperated shaft F. In a modification, wherein time-sheets are employed, the platen is a roller carried by a table which is connected through an arm and link to a disk on the operating- shaft F. The take-up roll c1 for the record-strip C is intermittently rotated by means of a pawl c3 on an arm c4 actuated by the cam b4. The type-disks A are reset by a bar g which engages pins G thereon and is carried by a toothed sector (not shown) mounted upon the shaft a bearing the type - disks and operated, through the medium of a toothed sector g2, by the operating- shaft F. When the shaft has nearly made a complete revolution, a pin H on the sector forces a detent h1 into the recessed portion of a cam h2 on the shaft F, so that the shaft is locked until one of the type-disks is moved. Figs. 6 and 7 show the cards of one workman for two successive jobs, the top line of the card shown in Fig. 7 being identical with the bottom line of the previous card. These two impressions, made at each setting of the machine, are duplicated on the record sheet as shown in Fig. 8, so that the job number column shows whether any job number is missing.
