摘要
3362. Ziemssen, H. Schilling-. Feb. 9. Stages, construction of.-Relates to theatre interiors of the type in which the front portion of the stage projects beyond the proscenium, and a flared hood-like soundprojecting structure extends from the proscenium opening towards the auditorium. According to the invention, the inclined side walls B, B1, of the hood-like structure, shown in plan in Fig. 1, are arranged at an angle of at least 45‹ to a centre line drawn from the front to the back of the stage A. The stage is preferably made to revolve, and consists of a circular middle portion A surrounded by an annular portion A' which may be divided into segments. Each segment may be raised or lowered independently of the others, so that sections of the stage may be moved into or out of place complete with scenery. Platforms A3 in each side of the stage communicate by steps A1 with a compartment A5, Fig. 2, below the auditorium. so that actors reach the stage from this compartment. The hood-like structure consists of arches B, B1, B2 which successively increase in height and span as they extend into the auditorium. In front of the stage, an arc-shaped opening C in the floor of the auditorium communicates with a space under the stage and provides accommodation for the orchestra. The conductor's rostrum is so arranged that he may see both the actors and the orchestra, but both he and the orchestra are hidden from the audience bv an overhanging back screen C8. The usual back cloths, flies &c. are provided, and a cupola or hood F is arranged at the back of the stage. Specification 18,730/06, [Class 20, Buildings &c.], is referred to.
