Sulphur is produced by combustion of H2S. A gas-analyser is supplied with exhaust gas samples, which are mixed to constant proportions with excess air. A regulator, controlled by an output signal from the analyser, regulates the supply of combustion air to the plant input, to give the optimum 5 yield. The burnt and unburnt exhaust-gas samples flow continuously through the analyser's measurement and comparison chambers. An output signal is given, when the SO2 ratio in the chambers is 3:1.
