摘要

The engine cooling fan is normally not connected. The friction clutch, however, when a certain cooling water temp. has been reached, is displaced by an expansion thermostat element against the preloading spring into the connected position. The fan hub has a friction pad which is pressed against the clutch disc. This clutch disc is connected by splines with the shaft. The clutch plate is held in the engaged position by a spring. The clutch is held in the disconnected state by another spring until the piston which is actuated by the expansion element pushes this spring out of the way.
