Device for determining the O2 content of a gas mixt. measures the pressure difference induced by two non-homogeneous magnetic fields through which the gas passes in a heated section of line. The pressure difference induced by the two fields react against each other. This pressure is measured in a branch line from the gas line contg. an auxiliary gas. The gas line can split into two parallel branches one of which is led through a pair of magnetic fields induced by a pulsing electric current. The auxiliary gas is then fed into both streams and either its pressure or flow measured. The auxiliary gas can be air. The flow of sample gas to the flow of air is in the ratio of 1000:1. Used for the industrial measurement of the O2 content of gas streams. The auxiliary gas flow is just enough to prevent the sample gas diffusing down to the sensor.
