A bobbin for package dyeing of yarn has apertures to allow the passage of dye through a package wound onto the bobbin. Each end of the bobbin is terminated by a cap having a conical outer face which diverges towards the end of the bobbin. A screw formation is provided on the conical outer face of each cap. The yarn at ends of the package on the bobbin is maintained in position by the threaded outer face of the cap.
