1463179 Percussive hammer IMPEX ESSEN VERTRIEB VON WERKZEUGEN GmbH 17 Dec 1974 [29 Dec 1973] 54489/74 Heading B4C [Also in Division B3] A cam operated drop and spring hammer or drill comprises a cam 13 which forces back a hammer member 11 against a spring 12 and releases it to allow the spring to urge the hammer against a tool 3, the rearward end position of spring 12 being adjustable to vary the force of the blow. As shown the drill is continuously rotated by interengagement of pinions 4, 5. The rear end of spring 12 is located on an internally threaded collet 14 mounted on a fixed bolt 15 the collet being rotatable, and hence axially movable, by a thumb wheel 19. In a modification the spring holder 20 rests against one face of a rotatable triangular member 21 each face of which is at a different distance from its axis of rotation.
