Producing thin walled tube bends from straight sections - using bend former and separating sections by sleeves to prevent folds

The process is intended for producing thin-walled tube bends from a number of straight tube sections strung onto a former. The separate sections are placed on the former and are separated by elements to prevent the formation of folds, break-out of the tube wall, and telescoping of the sections. The mechanism used may comprise an hydraulic press and a former with bending section surrounded by a burner chamber. Each of the elements may be in the form of a sleeve with an internal annular collar acting as stop for adjoining tube sections, the internal diameter of the collar being equal to the dia. of the former (2) and the height equal to the tube wall thickness.
