1320933 Laminates E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 15 Sept 1970 [16 Sept 1969] 44038/70 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] A laminated structure comprising at least one layer of a polytetrafluoroethylene or tetrafluoroethylene hexafluoropropylene copolymer film which has had at least one surface treated with an electrical discharge between spaced electrodes to render the surface adherable in an atmosphere containing acetone vapour in a gaseous carrier medium which sustains the electrical discharge and which is non-oxidizing and substantially oxygen-free, and a polyimide film having a moisture content of below 1% by weight and/or a metallic film, is prepared by bringing together at least one surface of the polyimide and/or metallic film together with the adherable surface(s) of the fluorocarbon polymer film(s) and bonding together the films by heating while being held in contact at a pressure greater than 10 pounds per square inch.
